What are the benefits of shopping online?
Goods and services are often cheaper online as the traders have lower trading costs. We recommend that you
register with your preferred traders as they will keep you updated with special offers and some may offer
discounts.
Shopping online gives you the convenience of shopping from your own home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
There are no worries about parking, queuing or the shops closing.
Is online shopping safe?
Shopping online is as safe as mail order shopping or shopping in the high street, providing a few simple
precautions are taken:
All traders featured at Buying Bliss are checked to ensure:
- They are based in the UK, so your consumer rights are the same as if you were shopping mail order
or in the high street
- They safeguard your credit card details with securely encrypted checkouts. Never enter your credit
card details online unless you can see a locked padlock
at the bottom of your browser or an 's' following 'http' in the web address. These signify a secure page.
- They safeguard your personal details and will not pass them on to others without your permission.
They have privacy policies or statements which confirm this.
- They publish their contact details on their websites.
What should you do when you buy online?
- Save or print the traders web page advertising the goods or services that you are buying in case of
a dispute.
- Print out the order confirmation at the checkout stage. This should also be e-mailed to you, so ensure
that your e-mail address is entered accurately when requested.
- Check delivery details and charges. Any delivery charges will be added at the checkout before you
are asked for your credit card details.
Did you know?
If you buy goods costing more than £100 for one item with your credit card, whether online, mail order or in the
high street, and the goods are not delivered or are faulty then the credit card issuer is equally responsible for
refunding your money if the supplier will not. This also applies if the supplier goes out of business.
You do not get this protection if you pay by debit card or cheque.
